Synopsis
“Something has happened to me,” Vera writes to her friend and filmmaker Annelie. What happened was F32.2, the ICD-code for depression without cause. Experts discuss diagnoses and therapies, but (like Vera) are faced with a mystery. Medical jargon enters the intimate letter trialogue between the protagonist, director, and camera. MRI brain sections and subjective verbal image, analysis, and emphasis: a struggle to find valid metaphors for an “out of the blue” disease.
